I want to Upgrade from Premiere 5.1c and import an old 5.1c project to re-edit my motion graphics demo reel. Nothing too fancy to begin with, cuts only, 3 minutes duration, web resolution output only.

Would the most cost effective solution be the latest Premiere version? Could I bypass Premiere and import this old file into Final Cut Express since Final Cut is more widely used in my sector of the business?

I am upgrading my G4-450mhz with a OWC Mercury Extreme G4/933MHz-1GHz with 2MB L3 Cache for PowerMac G4. I suppose I will have to upgrade the OS 10. I would like to upgrade the latest OS to 10.4.5.

Also I may want to upgrade the monitor to a 23″ Apple display by purchasing the Radeon 9200 video card.

Will all this work together? Am I missing anything?

    Thanks

Premiere Pro no longer works on a Mac. You will need to purchase a Windows XP machine in order to use Premeire Pro.

Wow! Adobe is not going to make editing software for the Mac? What industry trend is influencing Adobe? I’m not going to switch from a Mac to Windows. What version of Premiere can I upgrade to? Or should I just get Final Cut Express instead?

I just want to re-cut my demo reel and not pay a lot of money. My old reel is at http://www.stanomatic.net

I don’t know about the future, but that sure isn’t the case for now.

Premiere 6.5 was the last release for Mac. Final Cut Express will not open up Premiere projects.
