I’ve been using FCE HD 3.0 for a few years now. A side note, FCE was never included in any software updates , ever?! Any way, my system is listed below and I’m trying to decide which way to go with upgrading to FCE 4 (update) or the full version. OR just biting the bullet and going with Studio 2. I think I’m ready!
    1. Will FCS 2 be compatible with my Powerbook G4 and its components ?
    2. If i go with FCE 4, I’m not sure the update will work. It says in the Requirements that I must have at least FCE HD 3.5?
Currently I am able to work on my editing on the “fly” with my Powerbook g4, G Drive Q and video cam (capture deck). I just set it up were ever I want and I’m ready to rock. It all fits in one laptop case. I think some of my “file Missing” problems are a result of banging the external drive around though! But I’m getting more serious as I learn, doing jobs for friends and such. My last question is , if I were to purchase a desk top Mac with FCS 2 and the appropriate extrenal drives for media, would i still be able to edit on the run with my Powerbook? And transfer work onto my home set up . Or maybe could i go with a backup hard drive that I just leave at home for safe keeping, transferring files and work I do on the road.
Thanks in advance for your time, input, and help!

    Powerbook G4
    OS X 10.4.11
    1GB DDR2 SDRAM
    POWER PC
    ATY,RV360M11
    G DRIVE Q 250g
    Canon GL2
    FCE HD 3.0

So I can spend $99 for the FCE 4 update, or I can spend up to $5000 on all new gear!!!
