Upgrading from an educational copy
I work with the AE 6.5 Pro Education Version and want to upgrade to AE 7 Pro. I am currently still eligible for the education version which means that I would spend $199 for the upgrade. Now, when 7.5 comes out and I am out of school, does that mean that I need to “start from scratch” and purchase the commercial version at full price or will I still be able to upgrade my educational version?
I’ve spent time talking with several members from Adobe (ie educational software department; sales) and they each have different answers. Has anyone had trouble continuing to upgrade while using an educational copy of AE as your legacy copy? I would hate to have the money I’ve spent so far be all for naught.

First of all, educational Adobe licenses are ‘for life’. So you can keep using the software you bought at educational prices forever.
You can also upgrade your educational software to a full commercial license when a new version comes out. Usually for the standard upgrade fee.
