    Hi,
When I try to upgrade it’s telling me I need 6.0.5 which I can’t find anywhere on the Apple Site.

I’ve noticed users on the forum mentioning that you should use the Apple Software Update Utility however when I try this it doesn’t find FCP at all and I can’t see anyway to search this utility.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Peter

Im betting you have moved the apps out of the app folder or manually put them in a sub folder. Software update only checks the app folder to see what you have installed.

    Bingo…thank you.
    I didn’t realise that.

So in that case would you discourage placing subfolders in Applications folder?

YES if you want folders to put in the dock for sets of apps then create aliases and put those in folders.
