Ok, so I’m trying to help out a school, they are getting an old (very old) media composer system (media composer 3000 I believe), running on an old power mac (yea that old) we want to upgrade the system as well as the software to run on a current mac. (g5 or macpro if possible) what, if any, steps should we go through. I’m not sure if this is even the proper place to put this, but I figured it was worth an a shot.

I know the Meridien systems qualify for a trade in if you’re looking to upgrade to a Media Composer Adrenaline, but I’m not sure what trade in deal, if any, is available for the older ABVB systems. You’re probably going to have to call Avid directly to discuss that one.

These systems were made turnkey and are not upgradable unless ya count a trade in.
Great box for em to learn on though. No firewire and the compression doesn’t look wonderful but they’ll be able to bang the heck out of it wuth less crashes than most modern day adrenaline drivers.
Throw AE and photoshop on it if they are not already laoded. More than enough to get em goin.
