upgraded to FCP 6 no longer have device control
I have just recently upgraded to FCP 6 and I no longer can control my sony betacam deck. I have reset my preferences and reinstalled both analog and digital software installers for my AJA IO. Still no luck. I can digitize the analog footage in using the local option on deck and now setting in log and capture but FCP can not “see” the deck via the rs 422 remote cable and therefore will not control deck. Obviously, before installation of new software I did not have this problem.

After installing FCP 6 I had to go into the audio video setups and check the settings set by Easy Setups that used to work. I found that I had to manually reset the compressor and machine control parameters. Not sure why and I am working in PAL if that makes any difference to the Easy Setups. Once I reset the values it captured OK.
