Upgrade to MacOS 10.9?
So I’ve upgraded my personal mac to 10.9 and have decided that I really like a few of the features (namely the ability to tab finder windows). As of yet, I have not upgraded my edit suite which is running 10.8.5 and is generally a happy and production machine running:
Hardware:
- 2 x 2.4 six core (12 core)
- 32G Ram
- AJA Kona 3 Card
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX680
Apps I regularly run:
- Premiere CC
- After Effects CC
- Media Encoder CC
- PhotoShop CC
- Audition CC
- DVD Studio Pro
- SonicFire Pro 5.7.4
- Toast Titanium 10
Has anyone had any experiences (good or bad) with an upgrade process?
Production is fun – but lets not forget: Nobody ever died on the video table!

I’m running 10.9.2 here on several workstations (Mac Pros) and don’t have problems with any of the apps you’ve listed (no experience with SonicFire though).
You’re mileage may vary….
