Upgrade to FCS mid-project
I am editing an HDV project very slowly on my macpro laptop and have decided to invest in a MacPro octo-intel. I would like to upgrade mainly because I want to use color for the project. What is the safest way to do this? If there are problems I want the option of going back and edting on FCP5. Obviously I’m not going to upgrade my laptop. I’ll leave that as is until I make sure all is well.

Make a copy of your project file to open in the new system… that way you can go back if need be.
