What do you mean by the 4800 not being recognized? Where do you see that indicated?

In another thread, it was suggested opening and saving the Preferences, to ensure multi-GPU awareness. I would not think that would impact your scenario, but it would be something to try.

Hy!

Well, when I open Resolve, There’s a window that says the current GPU is the GT120, and a list of recommended GPU’s to use. After that, I enter the project and the performance is very poor.
If I check on system profile and CUDA preference, the card seem fine.

Try to swap cards in slot 1 and 2.

I’m assuming that the Mac Config guide is being followed, and that the 4800 card is in slot 1, where it needs to be. If that is a bad assumption, please make sure the 4800 card is in slot 1 and the 120 card is in slot 2.

Here are a few things to check:

1. Q4800FX in slot1 and GT120 in slot2
2. GUI monitor plugged into GT120. This monitor should be set as the main display, i.e. should have the Mac menu bar at the top.
3. No DVI cables plugged into Q4800FX

If this still doesn’t help, you can add these lines in the Debug section of “Preferences” to force the old behavior of detecting which CUDA card to use for processing.

LsManager.3.NumGPUs = 1
LsManager.3.GPUMapping = 0
LsManager.3.GPUMappingEnable = 1

You will have to Save and restart Resolve for these settings to take effect.

Thanks for that information. I just pulled the 285 card out of my test system, and I see the message you are describing. So I guess that means the app doesn’t see the card for some reason. If you run the Mac System Profiler, does it show the 285 card in slot 1?

Can you send a copy of your System Profile file to davincihelp@blackmagic-design.com with a description of the issue you see?

Well, I have the QuadroFX 4800 in slot 1 nothing connected, but the GT120 is in slot 3, I have a Red Rocket on slot 2 (and a Decklink on slot 4). I put the rocket on slot 2 because it needs a 8X slot and slot 3 & 4 are 4X.
I’ll put the GT120 back to slot 2 tomorrow and send you feedback.

Hi Daniel,

The RED Rocket should work fine in slot 3 or 4. We’ve tested that and documented it in the Resolve for Mac Configuration Guide. So please follow the guide and then see if your problem disappears as I hope it will.
