Upgrade path?
Is there an upgrade path for C4D v10 from 9.6? As well, are the modules version specific? If I have all the modules running in 9.6 can I just re-install them if I upgrade to 10 or do I need to purchase new versions of each module?

You need to upgrade the modules as well, however you only pay for the Advanced Render and MOCCA updates, the others are free according to the Maxon site: https://www.maxonshop.com/us/gp/products.upgrades.main/100/429-1161023410-493//
