If I wanted to upgrade my lens for my DVX100b, Right now it has the original 10x zoom lens I want something better. I do not know that much information about lenses. However I want a lens that can zoom further and give me a better depth of field. I have heard of 35mm lens adapters, will one work with the dvx? If i buy one will i be able to use it on other panasonic cameras? such as if i upgrade to a p2? If I buy a new lens is it easy enough for me to attach it myself or do I have to send it away? And then the final question any websites that have lenses for sale? Any suggestions are aprreciated. Thanks.

The lens is fixed so you can’t really “upgrade” it. I find the stock lens good for about 90% of what I want to do with it. If you want to have a lot more creative control I suggest getting some other kind of camera with an interchangeable lens. But the problem is you’ll need to add another zero to your budget in order to get truly useful results.

I see, so then have I heard people talking of putting adapters on their cameras? I do a lot of sports games and I sometimes wish I could get closer shots.

Yes you can get a telephoto 2x extender for example or you can rent a P+S Technic adapter but those are glass over glass- you lose a degree of optical quality to get a different effect. If you are doing this often it’s time to look into a higher end camera with a better lens.
