I’ve been getting by fine with AE Pro 5.5. But after buying QuickTime Pro, AE started giving me an error message on start-up, that I didn’t have a compatible version of QuickTime, and therefore QuickTime would not be supported.

Now I am trying to decide what to do, and would appreciate advice. I can put QuickTime Pro on a separate computer, I guess, and perhaps put on the old free version, and keep using AE Pro 5.5. Or, I guess I could upgrade to After Effects 6.5.

Is this a bad time to upgrade to AE Pro 6.5? I have a feeling that a major upgrade is around the corner.

This is all based on my theory that buying QT Pro is what messed up QT within AE 5.5. Any suggestions are welcome.

    Thanks.
