    Hello all,

so here’s the deal. I have the educational version of Final Cut Studio 4.5. I have looked all over the Apple site and my license and can’t see if I can upgarde from this to 5. My thought is that I can’t as most educational packages I have are static. So the other day I tried to order Motion 2 from MacConnection in order to take advantage of the upgrade offer that is coming. The order went fine but then was cancelled by MacConnection the following day due to the product being “dicontinued”.

So I guess my questions are, does anyone know what Apple’s policy is on upgrading educational software? Is anyone still selling Motion 2?

Academic versions aren’t upgradable. You need to buy the full version as full price.

That’s what I thought but wasn’t sure as it isn’t specified anywhere. At least nowhere I looked. And some packages are upgradable so thought it best to check. That’s why I was hoping to upgrade via the Motion 2 -> Studio method that’s been bandied about the forum.
