Updating text in InDesign
I am working on a work book in progress right now. Right now it is being sent to the editor and I have a rough draft of the text for designing the layout of the book. My question is, if the work book draft gets updated, revised, changed, etc., is there a way where I can have InDesign updated those changes for me without disturbing the formating or do I have to insert the new text each time there is a change? What do I do if the text goes through multiple revisions while working on layout?

From the sounds of your work flow, I would guess not.
That’s just what happens usually. We do some magazines and it’s a jig-saw puzzle everytime. Just when everything is fitting, in comes a new quarter page ad and we have to rearrange a few pages to get it in.
But, if you are editing by chapters, hopefully you are using Style Sheets and you can restyle the copy quickly.
There is an Adobe Cue and a Copy plug-in that could help, but at this stage, avoiding the learning curve and such, it’s probably easier to just reflow the edited copy.
