Hi, I have update my sequence in after effect for a Premier Pro Dynamic linked sequence. The sequence was sent to af through Dynick link.
The problem is now that when I view it in PP I can only get the update to play in sources monitor.

Flash back!!! before I made the dynamic link I made a copy of the sequence it was the copy I sent to Af
I also closed the tab on the time line thinking well it’s in my project I can just reopen it. But I think I have come unstuck with that as I can not do that.

Hope you following what I have done

I also copied the first sequence into the original sequence (copy and past)and I had done updates yesterday with out any problems but then I had not removed the sequence tab from the timeline. does this break the link. and why can’t i reopen the linked sequence again ??? which is in my project browser.

Hope I made it clear and apologies for any bad spelling.

When you replace clips in Premiere with an After Effects comp via Dynamic Link, the clips are inserted in a new Ae timeline and removed from the Pr timeline. The new Ae comp (containing the edited clips) is inserted in their place.

The edit for those clips now exists only in Ae. To get there, you can right-click on the Ae comp from within the Pr timeline and select “Edit original.”

    Hi Walter,
Thanks for that info, so it dose not mater then that I move the Ae comp in PP to a new place or sequence it will always be linked to Af comp. So never delete the Af comp as the brain is there..

Just to organise files then would you say it a good Idea to put the Af comp project files in the PP project files folder, sound ok to me. Any thoughts as I do like cleaning out once in a while.

    Thanks again.

I always keep all my files related to a single project together. I have a system of pre-organized folders that I keep around and duplicate for each new project. I file assets, project files, renders, and deliverables as I go.

This way, every project is always self-contained, and every project’s assets are laid out consistently. As long as you are disciplined about filing things in the right place as soon as they are created (just dropping something on the desktop now with the intent to move later is a productivity-killing mistake), you will never, ever lose a file.
