January 17, 2012 at 6:31 amGreat news that the UltraStudio SDI is now supported! I was just about to order the Decklink Extreme but this suits me better and is 40% of the price 🙂

I see the USB3.0 connectivity of the ultrastudio SDI opening some nice possibilities there.

January 18, 2012 at 1:12 pmHi Peter,
Following the Windows Config guide to a tee, we seem to be running into a roadblock with regards to the NVidia Drivers. Using the 280.26 CUDA drivers from the Nvidia Support site, it seems to not want to install on both Nvidia cards installed in the system. We have a Quadro 3800 (for GUI), and a Quadro 5800 (GPU) installed and despite installing the correct drivers, the Quadro 5800 always ends up with an error(exclamation point) in the Device Manager. Is this normal? Will the Resolve software recognize the Quadro 5800 despite the Device Manager error?

January 18, 2012 at 2:44 pmHi,
I’ve noticed the ASUS P9X79 PRO is listed as a supported motherboard, is it fair to say other ASUS P9X79 motherboards (such as the ‘ASUS P9X79 WS’, the WorkStation variant of the ASUS P9X79 chipset) would also be natively supported?
I ask as the ASUS P9X79 WS has 6 PCI-E slots and could therefore be more appropriate for a Resolve build, with slots needed for I/O, Storage controllers and GPU’s.
Thanks!

January 18, 2012 at 5:05 pmAt the Asus web site you can compare the two and find differences. I did, and superficially couldn’t find anything that would matter to running Resolve. Stuff like the WS doesn’t have Bluetooth, has PS/2 ports, has Firewire, has lesser USB ports, but 2 more PCIe slots etc.
Prices seem comparable too.
Wonder if there’s something in the WS that specifically affects Resolve.
