Update Woes
Posted by Dan Archer on March 16, 2009 at 3:19 pmI updated my OS and now FCP takes a longer time to launch, longer time, including a quick beachball, to load clips into a viewer and forever to export. Anybody have an idea whats going on. Ia m running pretty much the latest stuff. AJA IO and the works. Thanks in advance for any help.

March 16, 2009 at 3:50 pmupdate or upgrade? i.e. 10.5.x to 10.5.5 say or was it 10.4.x.to 10.5? If it was an upgrade to Leopard then you should erase and install it, not upgrade it.
If you’ve not rebuilt your startup disk in a while it’s likely time to do so in any event. things will go much faster when it’s cleanly installed.

March 16, 2009 at 4:30 pmIt was just the latest update to 10.5.6. Everything worked swimmingly fine before that. Make the update and now its funky. Also my AE seems to be a bit funky. No adaptive image preview. I have never Rebuilt my startup disk. Is there something on line to show me whats involved with that???
