update to Vegas 10
I have Vegas 9e. Is Vegas 10 considered an update of 9e (i.e., free) or do you have to pay all over again to upgrade from 9e to 10?

You always have to pay when the number changes. So 9a,b,d,c,e are free for 9 users but 10 is another version with new features and requires that you pay for it.
