Update on video monitor stalled during render
Posted by Sascha Haber on October 6, 2011 at 11:37 amHi there,
I wonder if anyone had this happening.
I am rendering from ProRes4444 to DPX10 in 1920 and everything is speedy and nice.
Thing is, after a while ( 5 minutes or so ) the visual output stops on the UI and Decklink.
The files are fine, the render continues until the end but just the progress bar moves.A slice of color…

October 6, 2011 at 12:21 pmThis happens to me too from time to time. Haven´t seen it as a big problem though, since the renders are fine. I render sometimes to prores 422 HQ and sometimes to uncompressed 8 bit yuv.

October 6, 2011 at 1:24 pmYes,
it happend to me too with prores 422. Renders were fine, just the gui and the output to decklink didn’t update.

October 6, 2011 at 2:22 pmSame here, going from DPX to ProRes 422HQ, but pretty rarely. The only correlation I notice is that it happens when the render is for a deadline and I’m already stressed out.

October 7, 2011 at 3:31 amYeah has happened for me on a variety of formats on both Linux and Mac versions since V7.1.
Some times stopping the render and flicking the play still on and off fixes it, but not always.
Once it happens a few times you get a bit more comfortable with it as the render is always fine!

October 9, 2011 at 3:31 amYes it has happened to me on just about every project I’ve rendered that is over 10 min. Not sure why though. Also I’m mainly using ProRes 422 HQ. I am wondering if it has something to do with 59.94 projects.

October 9, 2011 at 5:11 pmHappens to me as well.. Renders are fine, but sometimes I like to spot check my grade while rendering.
