  • Update on SSD list for Hyperdeck?

Posted by Rafael Metz on February 9, 2012 at 2:38 pm

    Hello,

the market shows up with new SSDs but on the Blackmagic website there are only the same SSDs since the release of the Hyperdecks.
I´ve used OCZ Vertex and after 4-5 months it was finally defect and I had to give it back.

Which experiences do you have with SSDs – the recommended ones and may totally different ones?

With the use of DNxHD other drives may come into focus, too?

    Greetings
    Rafael

I’ve been using Crucial C300s (240GB) and they work like a charm. I bought a newer-technology VoyagerQ external single SATA drive enclosure from B&H (I’m using the USB 3.0 connector) and it makes for a convenient way of transferring files.

I would stick to the approved list of SSDs (the C300 is on it), though if you don’t feel like taking a chance.

The Crucial C300 series seem to be EOL.
Is the M4 series an alternative?
