  • Update on Genaray SpectroLED-14 Light

Over a month ago I posted a request for users of the Genaray SpectroLED-14 light to post their experiences, with only one response from Todd saying I should buy one and post a review. OK. eBay had a good price (unusual for anything related to cinematography, but it happens) and I bought it. I am about to put it up for sale again on eBay. B&H’s customer reviews are pretty good (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/850293-REG/Genaray_SP_AD75_Spectroled_75w_AC_DC.html) but I was seriously not impressed. At ten feet, I measured 167 foot-candles, with gradual drop off as I moved the meter to the edges. It seems to be a slightly spotted LED fixture, so maximum output is at the center. The color in my unit is slightly magenta as if the unit was overcompensated for a green tinge. I am sure it could be useful for some applications, but not for mine.
