In Avid, is there a way to update an image as in Premiere? Here’s what I mean: In Premiere you can import an image, such as a jpg or png, and if later you want to update that image, all you have to do is open it from the root directory in Photoshop, update it, and save the new version in the same path with the same name. Premiere then updates the image. Is there an Avid version of that (since Avid converts images to mxf files)?

Alas, no. Because imported images in premiere simply point to the actual image where it is located on the finder level. Whereas Avid will import and convert the image to media…and not be linked to the one you change.

BUT…this does make me wonder how to update it if you use (like one should) the plugins that link to that still, like Pan and zoom, or Moving picture. I believe you need to retarget them, one at a time.
