upconverting 720PN to 1080i
Hi just wondering how to upconvert a 720PN clip to 1080i in FCP. Is this better done through compressor or is FCP subtable?

For what reason? I ask this because I work with 720p DVCPRO HD footage at 23.98, and we cross convert to 1080psf 23.98 via the Kona 3 when we output…to HDCAM. The Kona 3 does it on the fly.
The issue you will run into is having to go to 1080i…interlaced. GOing from 720p to 1080p via rendering in FCP or compressor might be fine, but needing to go interlaced…best to have a card for that. The Kona 3 is pretty much your only option here.
