Upconvert Problem w/ panasonic aj hd 1400 + Mxo2 le
Hello,
I’m trying to capture a dvc pro tape (411) and upconvert it to ProRes 422HQ. I am connected via SDI. The image I get whither connected HD SDI or SD SDI on the deck is one that is window boxed. It was shot 4:3 so I know it will be pillar boxed but how do I get rid of the window box and make the upconvert fill the frame as much as possible.
I have the manual and have tried changing the output settings without desired results. I can’t seem to find a way to get the deck to output a SD signal through the SD SDI connection which will let me do the upconvert through the matrox box.
Any ideas out there?

I figured it out. The preview that I see in my capture window while I am logging the tapes is not a true representation of the image that will be captured. Once I actually captured part of the tape for a test it had been unconverted as needed.
