I have top level folders and some nested folders. I want some of the nested folders to be top level folders. Is there a way to put them there, aside from maybe editing an aepx file?

I suppose I can have an extra top level folder so there is somewhere to drag things too. But, I’d like to know how to move something out of a folder, if there is a way.

To move an object to the root, either drag it into some empty space in the project panel or into the project panel header area above the project search box.

Walter nailed it, but I thought I’d share my favorite place to drag items to move them to the root: to the left. The small area just to the left of an item’s icon works to move items and it’s the shortest route to moving them up to the root.
