Unwanted Noise in Background
Thank you in advance for your help – I have audio taken onto tape via wireless lav’s, and where the subjects were, there was also a babbling brook, witch, not seen, sounds like white noise… Is there a way to lower or quiet the sound of the brook while maintaining the integrity of the voices?

Hi Matt –
The standard way to do this is to find a spot in your track where there is only the “noise”, in your case, the brook. Sample the noise, and use it as the “noise floor”. Then remove this from the audio track – it should work quite well. I’m not sitting in front of Soundbooth, or I could be more specific, but this is the standard procedure with all audio software.
