  • Unwanted lines when using a mask on a layer

I have a comp where the first layer appears to break up into squares/triangles and flip over.

They are created using a comp, with 3D layers, and the image/colours are masked. The masks appear to leave the outline revealing the background colour.

I have tried to increase the Mask Expansion to 1 or 2 and I am just getting inconsistent results.

Can anyone help? Essentially – the first frame should just be the green, and the last should just be the gray.

I have tried ‘Add Alpha’ on every layer, or on every comp but still no change.

I can’t quite picture how this has been set up, but if you’re going from negative space to positive with the masks, you may have to animate mask expansion from negative to positive or vice versa.

Completely agree. The easiest way of doing this – just link all the expansions to a slider and extend them all in one go.

To complicate this a bit more, expansion could be paired with rotation, in order to delay based on every shapes rotation/transform.
