[Mattyc] “If you want to open a specific project from the get go, just navigate to that porject in the finder and open it from there.”

This is what I do here. I have created a Projects Folder on my main system drive with a shortcut to that folder in the Finder.

Instead of Launching FCP, I go into that folder and open the project I’m working on. Very simple really, just Double click on my Mac HD and then go into my shortcut and go.

Or I simply launch FCP and start a new project from the Untitled one that opens up.

If the system isn’t doing exactly what you want, you could get up to speed on a little elementary Applescript or Automator and automate the actions at the finder level.
