When exporting from my timeline as a movie, the process stops dead at approx. 18-19 minutes, the saved file does not come into my project and when I try to import the file, I get the “unsupported” message. I’m exporting as DV.AVI and I’ve tried “the entire sequence” and “workbar area only” but I get the same result. Is this a ref. avi setting I’m missing somewhere? This issue has come up three times now, but in other timelines of 19+ minutes, it has not occured. My work around is saving in small blocks (-18 minutes long) and importing into Canopus Storm, assembling the blocks and saving as a ref. avi from there with no problems.

I’m on Prem.Pro, WinXP Pro, with ample space on my hard drive.

    Thanks in advance, Pattie

If I recall correctly, the Canopus DVStorm I used to use all those years ago had a 4GB file size limit. Or maybe you are on a FAT32 drive instead of NTFS (which supports larger files).

    Thanks Steven,

The drive is a FAT32 and my others are NTFS. That explains why on some projects I ran into the problem and other projects I didn’t, because I wasn’t on that drive. I looked in the manuel and found the paragraph about the drive being pre-formatted for FAT32 and how to reformat it to NTFS.

Thanks for your taking the time to answer, Pat

Glad to hear you got it sorted out. It is always nice when the original poster responds that they have the answer they need. It is what keeps us answering questions, knowing that it makes a difference.

I also wish the original posters would have a response if the problem is resolved. First, it is a courtesy. Second, there is such a great resource of knowledge and information here. Having the final resolution to a problem posted to “close” the thread is helpful in the future for those who do a search before posting.

Thanks Steven and to others that respond, Pattie
