    Hi,

When I try to open some avi’s I get an Unsupported compression in file error. I’m using Premiere 1.5. I’d like to know how to deal with this? Can I get the codec/compression scheme somewhere to install on my machine or what do you need to do? I appreciate any advice.

    Thanks,

    Randal

The first important question is what codec do these AVI files use? You will need to have that codec installed for it to work.

And if you don’t know what codec you’re using, check out this program. It’s got a HUGE list of AVI/audio/MPEG codecs to tell you what you need loaded to get it to work.

It is called GSpot, and it’s an awesome program.
