    I’m experiencing some wackyness in FCP5 I don’t quite comprehend…
I export a editing sequence out of FCP to AVI using QT Conversion (so the file can be moved over to a Windows machine for some final post work).

In the output AVI file I get a one or two frame break with the Unrendered screen flashed up. All the transitions are rendered in the file and in any case should be fully rendered when exported.
    What’s going on?

Don’t mean to be obvious (chortle chortle), but you did select all and render all before you did the export? Although it ought to render before the export anyway…

Off the top of my head, do you have any nested clips in the timeline? Otherwise it could be caused by filters that FCP is missing or doesn’t like. Have you recently upgraded to 5.1? It messes with a lot of filters.

Otherwise, try clearing all the render files and re-rendering from scratch.

    Sounds odd.

    hehe,

I did “render all” before the export although I think this is a step that isn’t necessary as FCP should render the files as it does the export.
The system is a brand new 17″ Powerbook with a clean install of FC Studio so I assume there hasn’t been anything upgraded…worthwhile to look though.
I just deleted the render files and re-rendered…it’s now in the process of exporting via QT Conversion to AVI (man o’man I hate MS codecs –they look so shoddy compared to QT and FLV.

Thanks for the tips…I post my results shortly

    Argh!
The damn unrendered frames are still there.

    Any other ideas?
