I made an image file on my FCp system, originating in Livetype, saved a title over alpha to the desktop with a .psd and a .tif extension. My co-worker sneaker-netted the files over to his system and when he opens them in his copy of Photoshop, the frame is just black. No extra layers show in the inspectors, it just looks like a frame full of black. Like a Spinal Tap album cover.

Any idea why the same files that look fine on my desktop were not readble in his Photoshop? They DID open just fine in iphoto for him.

It could only be seeing the Alpha channel. Try saving it with out the alpha channel and see if that works. Also does your coworker have the same version of PS? if his is lower it may not be able to read the file.
