  Unreadable Discs

  I’m building DVD TS files (SD) in DVD Studio Pro 4. (Part of FCP Studio 1). And am burning them in Roxio Toast 8. Which seems to do a fine job. I can play the discs on my external Sony DVD player, but they will not play in my Mac Pro on the disc player in the tower. The App for viewing is Apple’s DVD Player (4.6.5), and although it will play Block Buster type DVDs, the
  TDK discs I’m burning will not play.
  This is a recent phenomena.
  Is this a function of a Quicktime updater? (7.4.1)
  Is my internal DVD player on my Mac Pro wearing out? Is there a way to check the hardware?
  My intention is to go to a Blu Ray disc burner at sometime, will that burner be able to burn SD DVDs as well as the HD versions? (Lacie burner).
  Any help will be appreciated.
