So I have made a sequence with a custom size, and I think that when I did this I lost the ability to control my render options.

When I click the RT button that normally lets me choose “Unlimited, Safe RT etc” I have some different options now: “Play Base Layer Only, Use Playback Settings, and Full Quality” Are my only options now. And it has a “Record to Tape” option grayed out.

Did I hit a wrong key or something? Thanks guys!

Yes. I am making a comp in AE of a tv and needed to make a video in FCP a custom size to fit the tv screen. I could have sworn that I was editing just fine in this custom size and able to use the unlimited RT playback, then it seems like all of a sudden I need to render everything…

    I may be mistaken though.

Do the re-sizing in AE. It avoids this rendering issue and it’s better than doing it in FCP, anyway.

Whenever you use a codec or pixel dimension that doesn’t fall within one of the easy setups, you lose your RT options…

    Thanks guys!
