Unity storage for FCP
Hey,
We are primarily an Avid facility but we also have 3 FCP bays. All with FCP 7 and Kona 3 cards on Mac.
We also are a Unity 5.0 shared storage with a 14 seat license and fiber connections.
We recently added additional storage with Archion and in anticipation of adding our FCP bays to Unity we partitioned 6TB just for use by the FCP bays.
So now we’re hooking up or FCP bays to the Unity.
My question is…
What should I be prepared for.
What should I look out for
Any advise? Clues? Tips?
Any resources you could point me in the direction of?Any words of wisdom would be appreciated and welcome.

Lots of discussion on this in the SAN Forum.
In a nutshell, download the README for the latest rev of Unity. It spells out the issues with FCP on Unity. It will work, but don’t mix allocation groups, and expect a 10-35% throughput hit with FCP clients, and of course, no project sharing.
