uninstalling/installing media composer

I’m facing a recurrent problem that I can’t solve. Every time I try to update my MC 8 the installation I get he Installation fail error, but the software gets updated anyway. Application Manager says is current version, MC is the computer and it’s working properly. It’s still drives me crazy, so I try to have a clear installation and I try to uninstall it first, and the Uninstaller says there is nothing to uninstall, but as I said the software is still there.
It’s not just annoying, I’m kind of afraid that the program is working fine because I’m not editing any long project, but if I do something more demanding there is a problem I can’t see now.
I’m running MC on El capitan. Not hard drives attached, all folders have been clean previously to installation
Anybody have a understanding of why this is happening? How can be solved? -

I’d download the full installer for the version of MC you have. Run that.
You will then have the uninstaller for that version.
You can then completely uninstall using tge uninstaller and reinstall.
But if MC shows the correct version at launch thats what you have installed.Pat Horridge
