Uninstall 8 before installing Vegas 10 ?

Sorry posted this in Vegas and now I’m moving it to the basics section.
Don’t want to muck things up so I thought I’d ask a question before upgrading. I have vegas 8 studio Platinum installed on my PC and works fine.
I have purchased a Full (not upgrade) version Movie Studio HD Platinum Production Suite 10 (Box).
Should I leave version 8 and install 10, or would you recommend I first uninstall version 8 first.
As well I have a cineform codec? that was needed back when I installed 8, is this still needed?

Don’t uninstall 8. You can install both and use both. Don’t uninstall Cineform as Vegas hasn’t come with it since,, before 8 since you had to aquire it. Vegas isn’t backwards compatible so if you save a version 8 project in 10, you won’t be able to open it in 8 anymore. Just make copyies fo all your .VEG files from ver 8 with
8 at the beginning of the name. This way all your ver 8 veg files will on top in explorer and ver 10 will be after. An easy way to “Keep em seperated” {snare snare} “music starts” OK,,,good thing i’m not a comedian. LOL
