Regarding the HVX200, the process for downconverting footage to DV25 is: Downconvert P2 30i footage to a external DV25 FW tape deck such as the SonyHVR-M15U HDV/DV. Possible? It appears there is no tape drive on this camera.

I have two clients who acquire in DV25/DV50 only. I’m trying to determine if this camera provides a simple workflow for those clients footage into FCS 5.1.x. I see the added benefit in recording in HD, if and when they determine to go Hi-Def

The HVX has a DV25 tape drive on it, so you can shoot directly to tape if you want.

Downconverting is for downconverting 720p or 1080i/p footage to DV tape, internally.
