    1.
    I currently taking our legacy footage and importing to a 1080i project.
    Each shot looks like a postage stamp – so I’m setting up Premiere to automatically scale to frame size. Is this correct.

    2.
    When I worked in Avid, 4:3 shots had to be transcoded to DNX145 and then a format effect was thrown on…is scale to frame size doing all this in one shot?

    1. It’s correct in the sense that your picture will fill the entire frame, but it will look lousy.

    You can’t take 320×240 footage and blow it up to 1920×1080 and expect it to look decent.

    I don’t know about #2.
