Uncompressed won’t frame by frame
Just got a new G5 in the office. Took the SATA RAID drive from another computer and plugged it into this one to start cutting some Uncompressed footage. This computer is not hooked up to any preview monitor, it’s purpose is for crude editing, but I just wanted to make sure it could do uncompressed.
The footage loads fine, it even plays fine in the viewer. I can frame by frame using the arrow keys if the clip is in the viewer. But then when I drop the file into a timeline, I can’t do a frame by frame or drag the playhead with the picture in the canvas updating. I can still play the footage fine though, it’s just the frame by frame that doesn’t update. What’s also strange is that when I highlight the clip, I don’t get the wireframe in the canvas. I can’t click and drag it or anything… it’s basically frozen on the canvas until I play it again. Acordding to the clip, it doesn’t need rendering… even when i put it on safe RT.
I’m using a dual 2.5 with FCP HD 4.5
