    Hi,

I’m trying to render a movie in order to work on it in After Effects, and am having some difficulties.
The footage is in PAL DV Widescreen format, and I want to render it uncompressed in order to avoid recompression in After Effects. So in “Render As”, I choose PAL DV Widescreen and use the “Customize Template” button in order to configure “Uncompressed” in the Video Format. The thing is, that this somehow causes the video to “shrink” into what seems like a 4:3 aspect ratio (photo attached). When I render it without customizing the template, it turns out fine.

Does anyone know what can be done to solve this?

    Thanks a lot!
    Jennifer.

By definition DV is a compressed format. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DV#DV_Compression)

You can use AVI uncompressed video, but the file will be huge.

Select the same aspect ratio that the original footage has.

    Hi Frank,

I want to use uncompressed AVI, to prevent the footage from being damaged by multiple compessions.
The only thing I’m changing in the template is the video codec, everything else stays the same (including the aspect ratio), but somehow this doesn’t solve the problem… Any ideas?

    Thanks!
    Jen
