uncompressed avi or animation quicktime
What’s the consensus on the best format to render to on the PC, as an uncompressed .avi file or a quicktime using the animation codec set to best quality. I’ve always created quicktimes but until recently I’ve only used Macs. Or does it even matter?

Where are you planning on taking the file once it’s rendered? If you’re bringing it into an Avid, you might want to go with a quicktime file render with an Avid 1:1 or Packed Codec (1:1 10 bit).
Depending on where you want to do with the video might make a difference which codec will suit you best.

The problem with AVI is that it’s just a container for audio and video. It’s not always possible to know exactly what is contained as such it’s not always cross platform.
The advantage of Quicktime Animation is that it’s a known, it’s 4:4:4, it cross platform and any setup with Quicktime installed will be able to work with the file.
Animation is only lossless when set to 100%
