    Hi –

I am cutting footage that was provided to me as uncompressed 8 bit Quicktimes. I have two LaCie 1TB external drives daily chained with firewire 800. on one of the drives (the one directly connected to the cpu) one of the files imports and plays fine. When I import the other files and play them, the drive seems to have a tough time and after a couple seconds of playing, the image freezes. The audio continues for another couple of seconds and then stops. The video then stutters/lurches forward.

I’ve analyzed the clips and the ones that don’t work are the exact same as the ones that do. I’ve tried reimporting them into the project, but it doesn’t fix it. any ideas?

thanks in advance for any assistance.

The drive might not be fast enough to play back uncompressed 8-bit files. Or that file might be too big…or the drive too full.

Can you try copying it to another drive? One that can handle uncompressed 8-bit.
