    Hello fellow Premeire Cows….

Long time (12 years+) Premiere users here, going back to 4.0 in the dark ages. Most recently we have been using CS3 since it first came out, and have just begun using CS4… it came loaded on a brand new Matrox AXIO LE machine that we just got last week.

My editor has something weird going on… and we are trying to figure out if it is a CS4 bug, or if we are just doing something wrong.

In the current situation he has a 1080p 23.976 project. He has several sequences on a timeline in a project that he is presently working on. He finds that if he CLOSES one of the sequences, it is impossible to re-open it. You should be able to double click on the sequence in the project window, of course… but when doing so it does NOT re-open the sequence in the timeline. Instead, strangely enough, it opens the sequence in the SOURCE window… just as if you were opening a video clip. He cannot figure out any way to re-open the sequence in the timeline.

Additionally… if he has multiple sequences on the timeline and closes Premiere completely, when relaunching Premiere and re-opening the project only the last sequence that was “active” (on top) when Premiere was closed re-appears on the timeline. The missing sequences are still in the project window, but just as before they cannot be re-opened to the timeline.

The same is true if he jumps from one project to another, even without closing Premiere, when going back to the previous project only the sequence that was previously active is available.

Unfortunately right now he has an important and urgent project in progress that has a of of work in it already, and it’s sitting in a sequence that seems inaccessible.

    Help anyone? Wisdom much appreciated…..

    UPDATE –

Editor has discovered, via suggestion on another forum, that sequences can be re-opened if the Project Window is changed to “list” view… but they can’t be opened if the project window is in “icon” view, which is how he usually works.

This may be a bug… but a bigger overriding issue is that some CS4 patches/updates are not recommended for Matrox systems as they cause other functionality problems… and this is a Matrox AXIO LE machine.
