Unable to Properly Set xvid Bitrate
This forum seems to be organized differently from others that I commonly use. In the “View posts by Newest Posts”, there are many links and things look cluttered. In the “View posts by Topic” This seems to be neater, however, threads quickly fall behind due to all of the newer threads. So, it seems hard for me to follow things that are going on here as opposed to other forum formats. Any comments on this would be welcomed.
The reason for the above info is that I am duplicating a post I placed a couple of days ago. I would like to know how to correctly set the bit rate in rendering xvid. I had started that original thread August 31st. I am just not sure how people see posts into old threads due to Creative Cow’s format. Anyway, any assistance would be helpful. If there is a better way that I should have handled this question, please let me know. Thanks. The origial thread is at

I am running into some difficulties with regard to getting the bit rate correct. When I render using the xvid codec, my test video comes out to 92160 kbps (I rendered this one without sound). You can see the information for the original video. The movie clip is one that I rendered via MPEG-2 and then sent in to Americhip directly for file conversion. As you can see the bit rate for that one went down from 1128 kbps to 628 kbps. Their original video looks pretty sharp when played with WMP even at a larger size. I would appreciate your helping me in order to set this codec properly. I’ve tried a number of settings but perhaps I am overlooking an obvious choice. Thanks.
