  • unable to play back entire rendered sequence

Continuing my transition from FCP to Premiere, I’m having an odd issue with a project. I cut up a clip with the razor blade tool, copied it a few times, reversed some in the speed/duration panel and arranged them in a sequence. I then rendered the entire work area. However, when I try to play back my sequence, it just plays less than a second and then the marker on the timeline returns to the original point. I feel stupid asking this, but…uh, how do I just play back my entire sequence? I must be missing something here.

    Thanks,
    Zach

    Hi Zach,

Something is obviously not working right. The first thing to look at are plugins in your clip. Try removing them and see if things improve.

Also check for the latest display drivers. Check that you have the latest Premiere update. Also, remove any antivirus, malware software, they are well known to conflict with editing systems.

Is it possible you have set in and out points on the sequence and have the loop function the the program monitor? It will only play back in the in out section when you hit play with the loop on. Clear the in out points. Shortcut is “g” key.

There are no in or out points on the sequence and the loop function is off. It almost appears similar to a RAM preview in After Effects…

I don’t see what’s to gain from that. The problem is not visual. It’s time based…

Any ideas here? This is extremely frustrating.

    Thanks,

Here’s a screen capture, if you can make anything from it: https://tinypic.com/r/24oy5ox/7.
