unable to paste event attributes
Posted by Michael O’connor on May 14, 2007 at 10:29 pmI have done this numerous times before in vegas 4, I am now using version 7 and I’m pretty sure I have done it in 7 too, but when I copy an event that I have changed with the brightness controls, then go to the next event I want to look the same and right click, the “paste event attribures” button is greyed out and is not available. Any ideas?

May 14, 2007 at 11:58 pmI just tried it and it works for me.
Are you sure you did a “right-click – copy”?
If that doesn’t work, try either Ctrl-C on the first clip or use the Copy icon in the tool bar. -

May 15, 2007 at 1:15 pmThanks for the response. I have tried what you suggested several times Mike and it still doesn’t work. I went back to Vegas 4 and it works fine. CMALLA: what do you mean by deleting my preferences file? Thanks.

He probably meant resetting all your prefs.
To do this, hold Ctrl-shift while opening Vegas.
Be advised that this will reset everything, including any custom presets and templates you’ve created. -

May 16, 2007 at 1:07 pmWhen I started Vegas as you suggested it asked if I want to reset all vegas preferences to default values…..I said yes. It also has a check box for “delete all cached application data” which I did not check as I wasn’t sure … in any event it still won’t paste attributes. Should I have checked the box?

May 16, 2007 at 6:14 pmHmmm. Thanks for the thought Edward, I’ll check that out but I believe it does show in the original … it’s brighter… and that is what I’m trying to paste to the next event(s) so they will look alike. I had a question for you. Ihave seen some of the videos you link to sometimes and they are really clear and load fast… I have a 3 minute mpg1 video I’m editing to a minute or so for a guys web site, but whenever I render it to mpeg again the file is so large it takes a while to download. I dont think people will want to wait on his site that long but when I try to render it to mov it looks horrible. What is the best way to do this? Maybe I don’t have the correct settings? Thanks.
