Unable to output 5.1 audio
Hi
I have a project in Premiere Pro CS 5.5 that has a 5.1-channel audio track. When I expand the track in the timeline, I can see the channels are mapped in the following order: L, R, Ls, Rs, C, LFE. I am trying to output an MP4 with 5.1 surround sound and am having difficulty.
When I try to export, I notice in the export settings summary that the source material is listed in stereo, and not 5.1. As a result, when I try to output to a file with 5.1 settings, I get an error message that says “the source and output channels are not compatible or a conversion does not exist”.
Perhaps I’m missing some kind of setting to make sure that my project is a 5.1 project but I can’t find it. Another odd thing is that when I right-click on the 5.1-channel audio file and click on “modify>properties”, the default mapping for the file is different than what I see in the timeline. It’s listed in the order L, C, R, Ls, Rs, LFE.
I do have one other mono track in the timeline (as a sync reference for the 2-pop) but I have it muted upon export.
