Unable to locate Final Cut Pro Preference files
Hello,
here’s a problem I need urgent help with. FCP7 is misbehaving ( keeps crashing on renders and selecting clips at random and so on). I quit and re-launched, then tried repairing permissions, all to no avail.
The next step is to trash the FCP preference files, but here’s the problem.
I have located the Library folder, and inside there are 2 files called:
com.apple.RegFinalCutStudio.plist
com.apple.RegFinalCutStudio.plist.lockfileFrom what I have read there is also supposed to be a folder called
Final Cut Pro User Data, and there are other files in there that I am supposed to trash. But I don’t seem to have that folder and when I search the computer nothing comes up.Here’s my question: Why can I not locate the FCPUser Preferences Folder and why does the plist file I have found have the “REG” in front of it? Shouldn’t it just say com.apple.finalcutpro.plist?
What am I supposed to trash?
Here are my specs:
MacPro tower
2 x 2.66 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon
4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM
NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT 256 MB
OSX 10.7.4
FCP 7.0.3Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am in the middle of a project and on a time crunch.
Thanks,
Jeremy
