Installed latest Preset manager from Sony web site.
I have 64 bit Sony Movie Studio Platinum 12

I downloaded the preset files as explained in this video:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gC1OxbOY5pA

Preset manager opens I point it for example to Mikes Presets (sf file) the files show in top right pane, but when I select then and choose ‘copy to system’ none of them appear in the FX Chains folder …

    Can anyone assist ?

Sorry here, I’ve never fully tried or go in-depth with
    the Presets Manager.

Ah, I got it now . . The FX Chains Folder still within Preset Manager! My mistake . . got it . . ok . . . Maybe you’d need to do a reboot of your System to have them be revealed. But do you have them showing in Vegas?

This is what I do to retrieve the Filter Packages – which consists of Linked Chains of FXs. Note that I have 2 Folders of Packages: GB and JMH.

Either here from the Plug-In Chooser Menu Pane:-

Or from here in the Plug-In Manager Menu Pane:-

If this doesn’t get you there then get back to us, . . er . . here!

NB: Bill shows how to remove each and every Chain from the Event’s CHAIN-ed FXs Filter Package. Here’s a TIP: Just drag a new Filter Package to the Chain area on your Event or JUST the Event and the new one will replace the existing CHAIN of FXs.

    Cheers

Rick, I’ve just re-tested by importing a NEW to me set of Presets off of the NET. The process allowed me to reveal FX Packages in the PresetManager “FX Chains” folder. I had to click on the several folder options for them to reveal – but show-up they did.

I now have them working nicely in VP12 B726.

Where are you getting your Presets from?

    Grazie

Tried it again after booting PC .. still the same .. they appear in top right pane of Preset Manager, but when I select and then “add to system” they should appear in bottom right pane … they don’t.
This is following the preset manager instructions ….

However this time I did it with Movie Studio closed …and when I booted it up the presets were there.
Assume there is a bug in it … or maybe just does not work that well with Movie Studio 64bit

    I now have 100+ presets … sure I’ll only use a few.

I got all of these from the 3 links in the you tube post … could be real neat way of getting some smart effects without extra filters.

If you want a copy I’ll upload files – they are very small all 3 packs are under 0.5MB

Graham … do you use preset manager, or do you manually drag files using windows explorer.
